How did you meet your spouse?
Gary Byrd, the first pastor I served with when I began my ministry at Southside, introduced Sandra and me to each other.

How did you prepare for your calling to ministry?
I experienced my call to ministry while a student at Mars Hill College where I completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Following college I attended Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where I completed a Master of Arts degree in Christian Education. During my time in seminary I served as a part-time Minister of Education for Woodlawn Baptist Church in Conover, North Carolina. My ministry with that church laid the foundation for what I do today.

What’s playing on your ipod or car stereo right now?
I like a variety of music. At present, I really enjoy the bluegrass music of the group Dailey and Vincent.

What do you do for fun or to unwind?
I enjoy time with family. My hobby is golf. I am not very good, but I enjoy playing very much. Playing with daughter, son and friends is most enjoyable.

Describe one of the best moments of your life.
Meeting and marrying Sandra. That’s the foundation for all the ways God has blessed our family.

What’s your favorite thing about life in Mooresville?
It is our home.

The relationship with our church family.
