Join us for a great time in the study of God’s Word as we seek to grow as followers of Jesus Christ. This discipleship emphasis will be held Sundays January 15 through April 1 from 6:00-7:15 p.m.in lieu of our Sunday evening worship service. Nursery will be provided for birth through 4 years old. Our children will participate in Kids 411 and the youth will participate in their regular time of Bible study. The studies for adults are listed below for your consideration.
Payment for member books (adult classes ONLY) will be received the first night of class.
Please Note: You are not required to purchase a member book to participate in a class. Utilizing the member book will help you to gain the most from the study.
Additional topics for adult classes will be offered during the second six weeks.
R12 by Chip Ingram is a study of Romans Chapter 12 that will help you to examine what it means to live for Jesus Christ in a genuine way. Nora Jordan will facilitate the study. No cost. (6 Sessions)
When Life Is Hard is a study by Pastor James McDonald. The study will lead people to understand the nature of trials in believers’ lives and how God uses hard times to teach and refine us. Pastor McDonald developed this study as a sermon series during a difficult time for his church and while he battled cancer. Carmi Henderson will facilitate the study. The cost of the member book is $12. (6 Sessions)
Pray Without Ceasing? You’ve Got to be Kidding! Have you ever wanted to deepen your understanding and commitment to prayer? This study is designed to help cultivate prayer warriors and prayer leaders in our congregation. Kay Pippin and Cindy Watkins will teach the study. No cost. (6 Sessions)
Game Plan For Life (Volume 2) by Joe Gibbs is Part 2 of a study for men to discover the key principles vital to living a victorious Christian life; addressing subjects such as purpose, vocation, health, relationships, heaven and life. Each session includes a video segment featuring a noteworthy expert on that week’s topic – Tony Evans, Randy Alcorn, Don Meredith, Os Guinness and Walt Larimore. Dale Riley will facilitate the study. Faithful, Abundant, True is a study for women presented by Kay Arthur, Priscilla Shirer, and Beth Moore. The video sessions unpack the rich teaching through Scripture revealing that God is faithful, His provision is abundant, and His promises are true. Joann Wozny will facilitate this study. The cost of the member book is $13. (6 Sessions)
(new) What In The World Is Going On? is a study by Dr. David Jeremiah that presents ten scriptural prophecies in a chronological checklist and explains how current events fit into the biblical framework for the end times. Pastor Mark Ball will facilitate this study. Availability and cost of the member book is to be determined. (12 Sessions)
(new) A Study of the Book of Ecclesiastes will be taught by Rex Williams and is based in part on the 2012 January Bible Study “The Pursuit: Chasing Answers to Life’s Questions”. Ecclesiastes may well be the most contemporary book in the Bible, speaking to the very people who are most likely to build their lives on success, wealth, power, and intellectual reputation. Ecclesiastes points out the futility of such a way of life, urging instead that people face their need for God. The cost of the member book is $7 (12 Sessions).
(new) Teaching Your Children Healthy Sexuality: A Biblical Approach to Prepare Them for Life is a study by Jim Burns, an award winning author and founder of HomeWord. He has a great passion for equipping families to live for Christ. It’s not just the birds and the bees anymore. You may have been eleven once, but you were never their age. Thanks to the Internet, graphic images in the media, and their “know-it-all” friends, kids today grow up earlier than ever.
