The purpose of Southside's Celebrate Recovery ministry is to fellowship and celebrate God's healing power in our lives through the 8 recovery principles found in the Beatitudes and the Christ-centered 12 steps. This experience allows us to be changed. We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths and hopes with each other. In addition, we become willing to accept God's grace in solving our life problems.
By working the Christ-centered 12 steps and applying their biblical principles found in the Beatitudes, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy and, most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others.
As we progress through the principles and the steps, we discover our personal, loving and forgiving Higher Power - Jesus Christ.
If you are struggling with alcohol or drugs, or if you are living in an environment with others who are struggling with alcohol or drugs, we invite you to fellowship with us every Thursday evening at 6:30 pm in Southside's fellowship hall.
SCHEDULE
DINNER @ 6:30 pm / A time to fellowship with other people in recovery from various hurts, habits and hang-ups. The meal is free but donations are accepted to help offset the cost.
WORSHIP @ 7 pm / This time is spent worshiping and praising our Lord through music, singing and prayer.
TESTIMONIES AND TEACHING @ 7:30 pm / Alternating weekly, we have a “mini” teaching on a recovery topic or personal testimony of the amazing work God is doing in someone’s life.
SMALL GROUPS @ 8 pm / Here you can share your thoughts about the topic, your testimony or the daily struggles you may be having. This IS NOT a time to offer advice or attempt to “fix” others, but to provide a safe and loving environment for everybody to share.
